JOHN COMINGS is the director of the National Center for the Study of Adult Learning & Literacy (NCSALL) at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. His research and writing have focused on the impact of adult literacy programs on the lives if adult students.
BARBARA GARNER is director of publications for NCSALL, and a senior program officer at World Education. She currently edits the NCSALL publication ‘Focus on Basics, ‘ and has held many different positions in adult education, including teacher, staff developer, program administrator, and circiculum writer.
CRISTINE SMITH is NCSALL coordinator and a senior program officer at World Education. She coordinates NCSALL’s dissemination initiative, and is directing a four-year study on adult basic education staff development under NCSALL.
