Everyday work for many specialists in the social professions is characterized by stress and overwork. This volume initially discusses typical stress factors in these professions, such as continual conflict and a lack of scope for solutions or for personal needs. The book provides theories and concepts (explanatory information) on each problem situation, as well as typical examples from everyday working life. This is followed by a section on practical knowledge with approaches to solving each problem. Reflective questions that are raised promote further thinking and consideration of one=s own position. The second part deals with the consequences of stress (burnout, helper syndrome, coolout) and suggests coping strategies at different levels.
