"The Waltz" is a poem written and published by Lord Byron in October 1812. The poem describes the point of view of the London author on the Waltz, a particular type of dance. The waltz, in fact, was the most fashionable dance in London in the early 1800s , and Lord Byron hated all types of dance. The text, therefore, is somewhat bizarre and satirical: it's a shameless criticism of the waltz and the ridiculous physicality of the waltz dancers. The text perfectly describes Lord Byron's hatred of dance in general.
