This book examines the structure and use of the English language. It is especially useful for speakers of other languages studying English as a foreign or second language. The work is set out simply with numerous examples and drawings so that it is easy to understand. The units are not organised according to the level of difficulty and the order in which they are studied depends on the needs and interests of the student. It is expected that the student has some basic knowledge of the English language but wishes to expand and deepen this. The book ends with a selection of tests which give invaluable practice in dealing with examination work such as KET (Key English Test).
