Benjamin Shield, Ph D, is a therapist, educator, and lecturer practicing in Santa Monica, California, and teaches throughout the United States and Europe. He holds degrees in biochemistry and biology from the University of California, and has performed advanced studies at the Boston University School of Medicine. His doctoral degree is in health sciences. He has been a frequent guest on television and radio talk shows. He was a featured guest on the BBC/Canadian TV series Medicine or Magic? and a contributing author to the book Alternative Medicine. His work focuses on the integration of body, mind, and soul, while helping individuals reduce levels of pain and access exceptional levels of emotional and physical choice in their lives. He believes that healing and spirituality share common denominators and are accessible to each of us. He has authored numerous articles on psychology, healing, and spirituality. He is coeditor, with Richard Carlson, of Handbook for the Heart, Handbook for the Soul, and Healers on Healing.
