Caring for their mothers at the end of their lives and grieving for them after their deaths brought them together. Rabbi Mychal B. Springer is the manager of Clinical Pastoral Education at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. She was the founding director of the Center of Pastoral Education at the Jewish Theological Seminary, where she was ordained as a rabbi.
