Kogin, a counted embroidery technique, is a variation of the popular Japanese embroidery technique sashiko and is rapidly becoming as popular as its ‘big sister’. Susan Briscoe is widely recognized as an expert in sashiko. From her base in Glasgow, Scotland, she regularly travels to Japan, where she studied kogin under expert Yoko Sato. Her Ultimate Sashiko Sourcebook remains the cornerstone title on the technique.
