Tina Assanti immigrated as a child to Canada in the late fifties and lived in and around the centre of Toronto in the midst of Roman Catholic Italian, Irish and Dutch neighborhoods. She applied to be a nun at 21 but the Church turned her down. Her life has been a comedy ever since.
