William Lawton was formerly dean of students and head of the History Department at Moore Theological College in Sydney, Australia. Subsequently, he coordinated street ministry among adolescent sex workers, and marginalized people while also being Chaplain at SECGGS Anglican School for Girls. He supervised Ph D students in Australian social justice studies. For the next eight years he was national chaplain and ethics adviser with a major charity. This included visiting First Nations people in their communities.
