Now a retired neurologist, he was inspired to write The South Side of Queen when an elderly patient arrived at his office one day and announced, “I know who murdered your grandfather.” The book traces the histories of his family and the Roxy and Casino Theatres and includes his personal reminiscences about interactions with performers, patrons, politicians, and the police.
