Frank Biess, geboren 1966, ist Professor für Europäische Geschichte an der University of California, San Diego. Er hat in Marburg, Tübingen und St. Louis studiert und an der Brown University promoviert. Er forscht zur deutschen Geschichte im 20. Jahrhundert und hat vor allem zur deutschen Geschichte nach 1945 publiziert. 2006 erschien bei Princeton University Press sein Buch Homecomings: Returning POWs and the Legacies of Defeat in Post-war Germany.
