Published in 1920, this raw, angry, but keenly observed memoir details the author’s experiences as a World War I correspondent embedded with the troops of his native Britain. Replete with horror and heroism, the book casts an unblinking eye on the follies and futilities of the ‘War to End All Wars.’
عن المؤلف
Philip Gibbs (1877-1962) was an English journalist who served as one of five officially sanctioned war correspondents during World War I. Though he protested against the censoring of his dispatches, he was nevertheless awarded with a knighthood after the war. He is best-known for his memoirs.
