He obtained his education at Clifton College and later at Trinity College, Oxford, where he graduated with first-class honors in classical moderations (1884) and literae humaniores (1886). Quiller-Couch is widely recognized for his influential anthology ‘The Oxford Book of English Verse’ (1900), which displayed his impeccable taste and erudition. He published his novel ‘Fort Amity’ in 1904, demonstrating his literary versatility.
