Robert Marinier oeuvre dans le milieu théâtral franco-ontarien depuis plus de 25 ans à titre de dramaturge, comédien, metteur en scène et conseiller en dramaturgie. Il signe une dizaine de pièces, dont « l »Inconception », « À la gauche de Dieu », « Deuxième souffle » et « l »Insomnie ». Récipiendaire du prix de théâtre du journal le Droit en 1996 et du prix de la personnalité théâtrale de l »année de Théâtre Action en 1997, Robert Marinier a été finaliste au prix Trillium en 1997 et au prix du gouverneur général en 1998 pour sa pièce « l »Insomnie ».
