Matthew Henson and the Ice Temple of Harlem was his rollicking retro pulp novel, and he edited the Anthony-winning anthology The Obama Inheritance: Fifteen Stories of Conspiracy Noir. One-Shot Harry was named one of the best mysteries of 2022 by The Washington Post. He’d also been a staff writer on Snowfall, a show streaming on Hulu about crack and the CIA in 1980s South Central where he grew up.
