Gary Phillips has written novels, short stories, and comics for the likes of DC, Dark Horse and Boom! Studios. Matthew Henson and the Ice Temple of Harlem was his rollicking retro pulp novel, and he edited the Anthony-winning anthology The Obama Inheritance: Fifteen Stories of Conspiracy Noir. One-Shot Harry was named one of the best mysteries of 2022 by The Washington Post. He’d also been a staff writer on Snowfall, a show streaming on Hulu about crack and the CIA in 1980s South Central where he grew up.
