Kathrin Komp is adjunct professor in social gerontology at the University of Helsinki, Finland, and chair of the “Research Network on Ageing in Europe”. Her research interests are population ageing, welfare states, and economic crises. Stina Johansson is professor emerita in social work at Umea University, Sweden, and Chief Editor of Socialvetenskaplig tidskrift/Swedish Journal of Social Sciences. Her research interests are social care, social gerontology and comparative social policy.
