Rakesh Kumar has been teaching economics at the regional campus of Punjabi University–Patiala (India) at Bathinda for more than a decade. He specialises in industrial organisation, industrial finance, and applied econometrics. The author has to his credit more than twenty-five research papers in reputed national and international journals and a book entitled Financial Derivatives Dynamics in India. Several doctoral dissertations have been completed under his able guidance. Besides this, he is a member of various academic societies.
