Volume 11 features Ezra, Esther, Nehemiah, Malachi, and a Psalm. After King Cyrus of Persia’s decree to allow Israelites to return to Jerusalem, Ezra records the return of a remnant and rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. The book of Esther covers part of King Ahasuerus of Persia’s reign, and Queen Esther’s saving of the Jewish people. Nehemiah, in his book, recounts the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s wall. The book of Malachi reminds us of God’s covenant love for his people.
