Steven Carter is a retired emeritus professor of English and former Senior Fulbright Fellow at two Polish universities. Author of over 50 books, he is the recipient of the Schachterle Prize; UNESCO’s Nuove Lettere International Poetry and Literature Prize (twice); the Eric Hoffer Foundation’s Montaigne Medal; 1st Prize, 2012 British International Haiku Awards (haibun section); 2nd Prize, 2011 Haiku Presence International Haiku competition; 2nd, 2012 Irish Haiku Society International Haiku competition; 2012 Free XPres Sion Literary Competition: Special Commendation, and the 2012 Janice M. Bostock International Haiku Award: Honorable Mention.
