ALAN CAMBEIRA, born in Samaná, República Dominicana, holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Latin American/Caribbean Studies, and lectures regularly on cultural and socio-political issues of the region. His literary works, published in English, Spanish, and French, are standard/recommended readings in relevant college courses in the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
