Der deutsche Überfall auf Polen zwang ihn, in die USA zu emigrieren. Seine Arbeiten zirkulierten lange Zeit nur in studentischen Kreisen. Erst Ende der 1980er Jahre konnten sie wieder in Polen erscheinen.
