‘Private Lives’ is considered by many critics to be Noël Coward’s masterpiece. Billed as an Intimate Comedy in Three Acts, it tells the story of Elyot Chase and Amanda Prynne, a previously married couple who divorced years earlier and are now on honeymoon with their respective new spouses. Sir Noël Coward was an English playwright, composer, director, actor, singer and raconteur. During his long career, he wrote over 50 plays, hundreds of songs, a number of musical theatre pieces, poems, a novel and an autobiography.
