Forty days and nights is a time of hardship and trial, but it is also a time to transition and hope. Hardships change people. Trying times always do. So often, however, people focus on the hardship or trial and forget that there is a journey to be embraced. They are on their way home, but they focus on the pain of the present rather than on the hope of a new landing place. When that is where they center, they can easily lose their way.
