Robert the Bruce had himself crowned King of Scots at Scone on a frozen March morning in 1306. Peter Reese was a leading military historian and writer. He had a 29-year career in the army. His abiding love for Scotland ensure frequent visits north from his home in Surrey. He died in 2024.
