Saleem Haddad wurde 1983 in Kuwait-Stadt geboren. Der Sohn einer irakisch-deutschen Mutter und eines libanesisch-palästinensischen Vaters verbrachte prägende Jahre in Jordanien, Kanada und Großbritannien. Für Ärzte ohne Grenzen leistete er humanitäre Arbeit in Syrien, im Jemen und im Irak. Saleem Haddad lebt in London. «Guapa» ist sein erstes Buch.
