Nietzsche considered this book, along with ’Thus Spoke Zarathustra, ’ his main works, encompassing a greater multiplicity of subjects and reflections. Nietzsche defined this book to his friend Jacob Burckhardt: ’I ask you to read this book (although it says the same things as my Zarathustra, but in a different way, very different)…’
