This volume starts with an introduction into geodesy. This is followed by a presentation of the fundamental equations of mechanics to explain and demonstrate the properties for all types of orbits. Numerous examples are included, obtained through IXION software developed by the author. Dr. Michel Capderou is a lecturer at the University Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC) in undergraduate astronomy courses and graduate level spatial mechanics/astrodynamics courses. He is also a researcher at the Dynamic Meteorology Laboratory (LMD) at the École Polytechnique, where he works on the preparation of satellite missions and IXION software.
