Her work focuses on poverty eradication, with special emphasis on mainstreaming gender, violence against women, faith traditions and effective development, and youth and entrepreneurial development. Dr. James-Sebro is the author of two books: Revealing the Power of Gender Mainstreaming: Enhancing Development Effectiveness of Non-governmental Organizations in Africa and Genderstanding Jesus: Women in His View.
