Induced pluripotent stem (i PS) cell technology has paved new ways for disease modeling and drug discovery. Disease modeling with the differentiated neuronal cells from patient-specific i PS cells partially recapitulated the phenotypes of spinal muscular atrophy, familial dysautonomia and Rett syndrome.
