‘Fremdsprache’ Religion, religiöse Sprache in der Krise, Sprachlosigkeit der Kirche und abnehmende religiöse Sprachfähigkeit in der Gesellschaft – diese Formulierungen aus der aktuellen Diskussion zeigen, dass die religiöse und sprachliche Heterogenität kommunikativer Kontexte für die theologische Wissenschaft und Didaktik zu den zentralen Herausforderungen der Gegenwart gehört. Dabei wird immer wieder auf die Metapher der ‘Übersetzung’ zurückgegriffen, um die scheinbar notwendige Transformationsleistung zu beschreiben.
