Peter J. Panagotacos, MD
Dr. Peter Panagotacos is a double board-certified dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon with over 50 years of experience in surgical and medical treatments and a highly respected specialist in hair growth after diseases and injuries or because of hereditary hair loss. Dr. Panagotacos earned his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. in 1968. He completed an internship at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco before moving to New Orleans for his dermatology residency training at Louisiana State University Charity Hospital. Before opening his private dermatology practice in 1974, Dr. Panagotacos served as a dermatologist in the United States Army with the distinction of being the final doctor drafted for the Vietnam War. Since then, he has treated countless patients and has taught as an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Panagotacos was the head of dermatology at St. Mary’s Medical Center and lectures nationally and internationally on hair transplantation. He is board-certified by the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Howard Maibach, MD
Dr. Howard Maibach is a dermatologist who is well known as an expert in the ecology of the skin, with a particular interest in allergic skin disorders, occupational dermatology and dermatopharmacology. He is also known for being role model for young dermatologists during the years he taught in the UCSF Dermatology Clinic. Dr. Maibach has been on the editorial of more than 30 scientific journals. His bibliography includes 3, 075+ manuscripts and over 150 books. Dr. Maibach earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed a residency as well as a fellowship in dermatology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Maibach has served on the editorial boards of more than 30 scientific journals. He is a member of 19 professional societies, including the American Academy of Dermatology, San Francisco Dermatological Society and International Commission on Occupational Health.
