Transformation of energy in biological systems is known as bioenergetics.The process of bioenergetic and biotechnological processes are centered around energy transduction in chloroplasts and mitochondria.Life on earth, its origin evolution and adaptation to the physical conditions of our planet on a larger scale depends on the efficient mode of energy traping from the sun and its allocation into various biosynthetic processes.An intermediate step in this energy conversion process is electron transfer and proton translocation.Effort is currently underway, using biotechnological processes as tools, to improve the efficiency of bioenergetic processes involved in electron transport and proton translocation.
