It’s been five years since Detective Vic Lenoski took early retirement to help raise his granddaughter. But the shooting of an elderly man outside a cemetery reawakens his detective instincts. Offered a job with the Allegheny County Police-and urged by his wife to start working again-Vic is soon assigned the case. But when the killer strikes a second time, Vic realizes the only way to catch the murderer is to uncover the secrets surrounding that 1980s crime spree. But Vic’s skills are rusty, someone is leaking information to the press, and Vic soon learns those secrets are protecting much more than just stolen money.

Peter W. J. Hayes is a recovered marketing executive and author of the Silver-Falchion nominated Vic Lenoski mystery series. His short stories have won the Pennwriter’s short story award and been finalists for Derringer and Al Blanchard awards. An early novel was a finalist for the Crime Writers Association (CWA) Debut Dagger Award.
