I sat at a rooftop bar on an island in Florida, watching the sunset. I realized the first night that the sun wasnt only setting on the day but also on my life. I needed to hear from God concerning the end of my physical life, which is approaching. God gently taught me how to die and how to not be afraid of what is to come. He also taught me how to live, breathing hope into my soul. I have enjoyed my conversations with God, and in these pages, have attempted to share them with you. I pray that as you read, God becomes visible to you and that you find this book an enlightening treasure in your life.

I’ve been involved with religion most of my life. Baptized, confirmed, baptized again. Spent some years studying scriptures in Bible college, then pastored for twenty-five years. Worked in a rescue mission in Miami. Started some pioneer work in Las Vegas and New Orleans. Spent eleven years doing radio. Assisted in a church plant in Guyana. This all means little compared to knowing Christ. The desire to decrease while Christ increases is getting stronger within me. The work is no longer the focus; Christ is. I’m not as qualified as most in writing a book, but I’m a voice and I’m crying in the wilderness. I live in Tierra Verde, Florida; there I watch the sunset and fellowship with God. This book is the result of a forty-day experience with God.
