The story begins in 1850 England and follows an incredible journey out of poverty and into Civil War, frontier life, and the development of pioneers. So many things happened to this family guided by God as they developed a life on the Kansas prairie and helped settle a community.
All things have a beginning and an end. The Last Buffalo in Kansas begins with hope as George Washington Willis collects all he owns and steps off a packet ship onto the docks of New York in 1853. He is seventeen years old and has a dream to own a large farm. He has come to America with nothing except a will to succeed. He was educated by God and found a lifeline of adventure that created one of the largest family farms on the Kansas prairie. His legacy was carried on by his son who created a farm like no other. It is a story about people that believed in God and helped make America the great country that we all know.

Bob Willis is an author that was inducted into Who’s Who in America in 2022 as an author and writer. He is best known for a series of books about traveling the world searching for a most elusive foe. The four-book Trout Adventures series follows the adventurer and photographer as he searched for all of the world’s trout. It took a decade and many adventures to write. He is also writing a children’s nature-book series, still under development, and now comes The Last Buffalo in Kansas — a special project.
