The analytical psychology founded by the Swiss psychiatrist and psychologist C.G. Jung has in recent years been attracting strong attention once again with modern further developments – for example, through the way in which it conceives of a network structure in the psyche, which can offer links to modern discoveries in neuroscience, or the way in which it values the inner experience of images and the imagination. In a comprehensible style, the book traces the foundations of analytical psychology, with its roots in the humanities, and describes the treatment methods drawn from these, such as dream work and active imagination.
