Meyers propose a set of policies-paid family leave provisions, working time regulations, and early childhood education and care-designed to foster more egalitarian family divisions of labor by strengthening men’s ties at home and women’s attachment to paid work. Nancy Folbre is Directorof the Program on Gender and Care Work at the Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Senior Fellow of the Levy Economics Institute at Bard College. She is the author of numerous books, most recently Greed, Lust, and Gender: A History of Economic Ideas (Oxford, 2009).
